Denise Leto is a queer multidisciplinary poet, writer, editor and dance dramaturge. Her current project, home (Body) is a collaborative dance, video, poetry installation and performance. Her poetry/prose collaboration centered around the Villanelle appeared in the magazine InDance. She co-created the “San Francisco Baylands Eco-Poetry Project: Aimless Wandering with Instructions” from which an essay and poem were published in the Black Earth Institute’s journal, “About Place: Practices of Hope.” Her work has appeared in numerous publications recently in “Rogue Agent,” Mollyhouse,”Hello/Goodbye Apocalypse” and the “Italian American Review.” Poems are forthcoming in “Jacket2,” “Orion,” and “Quarterly West.” She is the author of the poetry book for the dance/performance, Your Body is Not a Shark. She does cross-genre, disability culture work with the international art collective, Olimpias. She recently completed her poetry manuscript The Body is a Wild Summons.
